I originally started with Irish Setters, only to discover that my areas of interest did not coincide with this breed's strengths.

In 1988, after a few years of research, I purchased my first "show potential" Rottweiler from a local breeder. His structure and pedigree were of equal value; he ended being the best tempered companion I have ever owned. ;-) This boy was the one that made me fall in love with the breed....and so the madness began!

Three new pups and six years of heart ache followed....never quite realizing my goals due to lack of soundness and/or not measuring up to the AKC breed standard. I would continue, as long as the dog was capable, attending classes and learning everything that special dog could teach me...I loved them all deeply...but I also wanted to FINISH something I started ~ with a TITLE.

Meanwhile, I worked in every venue with multiple code of ethic breed clubs and saw many people come and go...from the same heart break...but I could not walk away.

I was fortunate to realize, a Rottweiler that does desire to DO IT ALL, is not all that easy to come by....and a particular style was necessary for me to obtain my numerous goals.
My search lead me to Colorado and although it seemed like forever, I waited 1 1/2 years for two outstanding specimens, from the pedigree I thought offered health and versatility.
I purchased "GRAND" and "CANYON" and the rest is history.

However, with wanting that very special bond, which results from training your own dog(s) - my learning/growing process stymied them from reaching THEIR FULL potentials...but the "ride" has been memorable, I would not change a thing. They have taught me volumes.

The entire experience has been tremendous fun. I am pleased to say, the highs have far outweighed the lows. In most part to the camaraderie of many special friends..... and ALWAYS enjoying the accomplishments of their offspring and their owners.
